Hi! I'm a PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Washington, where I research how artificial intelligence can be governed in line with democratic principles. I come from a background as an AI researcher in academia and data engineer in government, having always wanted to tackle the big political issues in technology. I also work as a freelance tutor in Los Angeles, helping high-school and collegestudents with math, computer science, writing, and college admissions. If you're interested in tutoring services, check out my tutoring page. Previously, I worked as a data analyst at C4ADS, using modern data science techniques to investigate illicit networks in global security. I earned my Master of Science in Engineering in Data Science with a concentration in Language and Speech from Johns Hopkins University, where I also completed my undergraduate studies in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. My research interests lie at the intersection of AI governance, political theory, and policy. I've co-authored work on topics ranging from ASI control problems and republican constitutionalism to speech recognition models and mechanistic interpretability.
